When you see this title what do you expect?
Some twit harping on about Germany or Russia? The strikes?
Well you obviously don't read this. I don't mean this like a time period, I mean by age. Teenagers natural instinct is to rebel everything their parents tell them to do. Adults of the world don't even try to say that you didn't, cause I know you'd be lying.
Why is it that we have such a strong need to rebel? Probably because from a young age they've told us to be ourselves, a induvidual - turns out they mean unless your opinions differ from ours. We want to be our own person, NOT our parents. This is natural, unpreventable and frequent.
Many people have rebelled over generations and generations - for thousands of years. So is it human nature to rebel against law and order? Is it the same nature for us the settle arguments with our fist and be cruel to one another? Even though we are a great intelligent species - we're not perfect, we are not 'just human' we're just animals.

The Pursuit Of Happiness
When you see my title what do you think? Do you think of the film featuring Will & Jaden Smith? The ageless teachings of Buddha? or something entirely different. In my R.E. class we are studying Buddhism, as a Christian (well sort of - long story) I don't know much about the teachings but one really called to me. The Pursuit Of Happiness. People search in their lives for different things, different goals, aspirations, objects yet really they are all the same. I don't mean for example if all you wanted was to be a chef and another all they wanted was to own a simple hat, they aren't the same, but the intentions are the same. They are searching for happiness, as if these objects or careers will give them the eternal happiness that they desire. There is only one way you can possibly achieve this. Look at yourself and what you have and be thankful and grateful, enjoy life as you are. This doesn't mean you cannot do other things but be happy wherever you are. Thats all you need to be happy i'm not even going to say friends and family, some people like company yet others prefer to be alone, people are different. I'm not going to lie and say that I have achieved this. I know how but its so hard, I will always try and I believe someday I will succeed, still do have aspirations and dreams, just don't think you need them to acquire happiness. At the moment one of my aspirations is to simply receive a B in my next maths GCSE (higher paper UNIT 1 if your wondering) what are yours dreams and aspriations???

Lipstick
Some people may be shocked that I a young teenage girl is so fully supportive of fashion, beauty, hair and other things they quickly label 'materialistic' without any further acknowledgement or reasoning. I would rather be a part of this world than of their boring offices and their belief that older is better, but not to old. The higher positions are labeled as 'senior' putting an image of an older person into your head. I have already blogged about this. First of all to all you people who judge others, beware never underestimate a teenager with a open mind and a passion for VOGUE.
Fashion is not about being fake or over-proud, it isn't measured in how much of the latest Prada collection you own, I personally don't own any, my wardrobe is new look with one topshop top and two river island tops. They are the closest to that I have. Yet I have an opinion and a say because as YSL once said 'Fashion is fickle, Style is eternal'. For example putting on lipstick. Just something as simple as a swipe of e.g. pink lipstick can make you feel confident and self assured. It can make you feel ready to take on the world an rock it. It can cost from expensive to cheap, hundreds of shades for each person, when you find the right one it just fits, you feel as if your the best you can be, confident, beautiful inside and out, happy. What is wrong with this??
To all those closed minded people open your eyes, buy a copy of e.g. vogue and open your mind to further possablitly

Film Reveiw
I've decided that as I go to the cinema quite a lot I'll start doing some film reviews.
This is for The Roommate and soon i'm going to see Suckerpunch so expect thaa soon.
The Roommate is very hard to describe. It is but it isn't a horror movie, I say that as it doesn't have stereotypical horror plots and thrills. For example zombie films are basically the same idea but slightly adapted (excluding the resident evil films there just crap). The storyline is a girl goes to collage and she has a roommate, who is a lesbian and becomes dangerously obsessed with her. You would expect lots of bloody violence and gore, something which the 15 age certificate supports.
Yet this has hardly any violence even in two scenes where (spoiler alert!) people get stabbed with a knife there isn't much blood and gore. Really the horror is all in the tension. Its very good for tension and well basically making you jump.
On a fashion point of view it is surprisingly a good film for fashion. The girl is a aspiring fashion designer and the crazed roommate has plenty of designer clothes. Also one character is successful in fashion and all of them have style.
All in all I do like this movie and the cast is very surprising! enjoyed it throughly.

The Teenage Fashion Revolution
I was simply sitting in my bed, I was on www.boutiques.com and www.polyvore.com and reading VOGUE when being a thirteen year old girl ( almost fourteen) I obvisosly seeing as i'm a teenager without a job and pocket money i can't afford anything in them. I realised that this world is very ageist, the younger generation are looked upon as imcompetant and they wonder why we despartly wish to grow up, when your young you imagine being grown up as this amazing world full of wonders that are completely endless, a wonderland because parents always say that you can do that when your grown up, your to young, the they grow up and get a hard slap in the face called reality, I wonder WHY we can't, we are capable of standing on a bench so why are only the elders with bad backs and take longer to recover are allowed? When looking through websites/reading magazines I realised that in this fiercely ageist world, fashion is an escape. With teenagers the Lourdes(Madonna's daughter to those of you living under a rock) being style insparations and working with designers, the fashion industry isn't only looking for adults, models have to be young to compete and the apparently 'desired' body type is often the same as younger girls. What is it about the fashion industry that makes it so open-minded. People may say that fashion is materialistic and cruel, but they are open-minded for example if you worked at a fashion magazine and came in wearing a fabulous Matthew Williamson dress is an amazing loud print you would be admired but if you worked at a bank they would look down upon you as if how your dressed effects your work and makes you dumber. Its completely insane, so in this incredible industry they accept anything from Lady Gaga and Vivian Westwood to Chloe and Alexa Chung and the snooty and quite frankly more boring people call us shallow and closed-minded, I would say take a look in the effing mirror darling (if you own one that is), why do you call us fashion people shallow and insult our world when you use us everyday, If it wasn't for our industry what would you be wearing as clothes? on your face? in your hair? now please rethink you opinions :) x
